A favorite room, like bedroom, with the view of the outside added with some portable sound proofing panels from the music store will do. These panels made of fiberboard come in different sizes and shapes and can be moved from wall to wall wherever there is a problem with residual noise. When building the room, there is a sheet rock that is available that is sound proof called Quietrock that is used in professional studios.

Rugs on hardwood floors along with drapes on the windows and the soundproofing panels can be used to get the sound that just right for recording. The space will need to be as comfortable as possible because of the length of time the room will be used, with special attention to noise leaks that may come from power outlets.
