With very rare exceptions, mobile phone cameras do not have an optical zoom. Even some compact digital cameras lack an optical zoom. Most offer some form of digital zoom, but all that does is degrade image quality; it is better to take a photo without any zoom to all and then crop it later, on your computer, for exactly the same result.
The absence of an optical zoom means that anything beyond a couple of metres will be a picture of a landscape, not a detail. In fact, it can be surprising how wide-angle a photograph is compared to your eye's ability to see detail at the same distance.
